Privacy policy

This policy explains what data Potato Assist (https://potato.coldstoreapp.com/) collects and how it is used. The service is run by A. G. Software Technologies (AGSoft), Sri Bhola Nath Cold Storage, Bakshipura, Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh 271801, India.

1. Two kinds of data

• Your account data (you, the operator): name, mobile number, email if given, cold store or shop name, district, password (stored only as a one-way hash), wallet recharges and charges, and basic logs such as IP address and login times.
• Farmer data that you upload: photos of papers such as Aadhaar, bank passbook, khatauni, Farmer Registry sheet, cold storage receipts and gate passes; the details read from them (name, address, Aadhaar number and the Aadhaar QR, bank account and IFSC, land and lot details, quantities, dates, payments); the farmer's photo; and the farmer's portal login if you save it.

2. Why we use farmer data

Farmer data is processed only to prepare and fill that farmer's own application on the UP Horticulture portal. We do not sell it, share it for marketing, or use it to build profiles. We do not use it for any other farmer or any other purpose.

You (the operator) collect this data from the farmer and decide to upload it. You must tell the farmer what it is for and take their permission before you photograph their papers. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we process farmer data on your behalf and on your instructions.

3. Who processes the data

• AI reading: photos are sent to an AI service (Anthropic's Claude API) to read the text. It is used only to return the reading to us.
• Hosting: our servers are rented from a hosting company in India.
• Payments: Razorpay processes recharges. We receive the payment result, not your card number or UPI PIN.
• The portal: the extension types the farmer's details into potato.uphorticulture.in in your own browser when you ask it to. What happens on the portal is under the government's own policy.

We share data with the police or courts only when the law requires it.

4. Security

• Only your account can see your farmers. Every request is checked against your login.
• Files are kept outside the public website and are only sent to your logged-in app or extension.
• Saved portal passwords are encrypted at rest. Connections use HTTPS.
• Your account password is stored only as a hash; we cannot read it.
• The Aadhaar QR image is only ever re-drawn from the card's own QR, never made up from typed details.

5. How long we keep data

• Farmer data stays until you delete the farmer in the app, or until you ask us to delete your account. Deleting a farmer removes its photos and details from our server. Backups are overwritten within 30 days.
• Payment records are kept as long as tax law requires, even after an account is deleted.

6. Your choices

• You can see and correct your profile in your account.
• You can delete any farmer at any time in the phone app.
• You can ask us to delete your account and all its farmers. A farmer can also ask us, through you or directly, to delete their data. Write to admin@coldstoreapp.com from your registered email or call +91 88400 89261. We act on requests within 15 days.

7. Cookies

We use one login cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Razorpay's payment window sets its own cookies when you pay.
